Released in November 2005 the Xbox 360 has now sold over 40 million units. Wow, but not as wow as the Wii’s 70 million sold, but a little more wow than the PS3’s 34 million sold. Wii WTF. Anyway take a guess what console has the most total sales in Japan…anyone? If you guessed the Wii, you are wrong. The PS3 has sold a 5-1 ratio of units in Japan compared to the 360.
The figure of software (games) associated with each sale of a 360 is 8.8 to 1 or a total of 203 million units sold. Where the Wii is at 6.5 to 1 games sold per Wii sold. Interesting stuff. Of course this does not take in consideration controllers, headsets, or any other type of accessory associated with a console unit. Not to mention Microsoft charges for online multiplayer game play, aka Xbox Live. Anyway, its safe to say that Microsoft (Bill gates and top associates) have about enough money to do whatever the f*** they want. Ohh yea, and did I mention that Microsoft is into software development as well? Well I think most of you already knew that : )
