Need For Speed World: MMOG

EA will release a Need For Speed World where players will be immersed into the wonderful world of MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Gaming) aka, all co-op.  NO AI.  The release is set for July 20th and will be free to play, wow, nice.  The catch, you can only get to level 10 with the free online playing status.  Once you get to level 10, probably after about 15-20 hours of online gaming, you can stay a lame level 10 noob if you want, but if you want street credit (lol) you will have to purchase EA’s Starter Pack, which will allow you to advance to level 50, give you power ups and a limited edition vehicle.

“Players who pre-order Need for Speed World will have a one-week head-start to the game on July 13th, with increased Rep (XP) gain for the duration of the head-start event and guaranteed access to all upcoming Need for Speed World beta events,” EA said. “Finally, players will also be able to reserve their driver names in advance of the game going live and have VIP status permanently displayed in their driver profile. Pre-orders are available now at eastore.ea.com or at participating digital retailers nationwide.”

And if your interested in the Beta then this is how its done: “…beta begins on Wednesday, June 2 at 9 a.m. (PDT), and ends on Sunday, June 13 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT).  This beta will be the longest we’ve ever had for Need for Speed World, and it’ll also be the largest, with more than 150,000 participants.  We are also happy to say that all previous beta participants will be invited to this latest beta, so keep checking your inbox in the coming days for your invite.  One important thing to remember is even if you didn’t get invited to this beta, you will get to play Need for Speed World before the beta program ends.  As with every Need for Speed World beta, you’ll need to completely uninstall any previous versions of World before installing the new client. Once you’ve uninstalled the old version, download the new setup.exe file from World.NeedforSpeed.com to install.”

I haven’t played a Need for Speed game in a while but the one I did play (can’t remember, like 4 years ago) was sweet, so something like this seems like it would rock.  Just might have to check this bad boy out.
