Rockstar Games has done it again. First invading our dreams with their GTA series, now they have the best western to date under their belts. Red Dead Redemption has quite a following, and along with that following there has been more than enough action to go around. During the first 2 weeks of its release gamers put in a whopping 17million hours of game play. 17million hours = 1,940.64 years. Wow. During that time in the Wild West there was 132 million killings, and over 5,773,900 hats shot off in duels. Also there were 1.9 million horses stolen, 862,000 robberies and 809,000 acts of arson. Don’t feel bad if you contributed to these stats, it’s just a game.
If you put a rough estimate that 3.5 games were sold, then you could say that in the first 2weeks of Red Dead Redemption’s release each gamer put in about 5 hours each. Don’t blush here; I know that many of you put in far more hours than 5. Your cash that went toward weapons and other items in the world of Red Dead Redemption toped over $3.33 billion. Take that recession. The Wild West rules again. Nice stats, game on my friends, game on.
