Dead Space 2 PC System Requirements

If you’re a PC gamer (like me) it can be interesting to see how much of our system the latest and greatest games coming out can eat up.  Dead Space 2, the survival horror sequel to the scary-as-shit original Dead Space is set for release January 25th 2011.  So pretty soon you will be able to take the role of Issac Clarke and stomp, shoot and bash the brains outta as many aliens as you can shake a fist at.  Here are the PC requirements for Dead Space 2:

OS: Windows XP (SP2), Windows Vista, Windows 7

CPU: 2.8 GHz processor or equivalent (any Pentium 4 2.8 GHz or better, AMD Athlon64 3000+ or better, any Athlon64 X2 or Core Duo processor)

RAM: 1 GB (XP), 2 GB (Vista or Win7) or more

DISC DRIVE: 8x speed or faster CD/DVD drive

HARD DRIVE: At least 10 GB of free space

VIDEO: 256 MB Video Card and Shader Model 3.0 required. NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or better (7300, 7600 GS, and 8500 are below minimum system requirements) ATI X1600 Pro or better (X1300, X1300 Pro and HD2400 are below minimum system requirements)

SOUND: Direct 9.0c compatible sound card

The system requirements are LOW.  But really, if you have only 1 GB of RAM, you need to add a few sticks to your lonely MOBO asap.  Anyway, the game will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well if your not keen on PC gaming.

Who would want to game on the PS3 or Xbox? The graphic details aren't nearly as good as with the PC (If you can turn up the graphics all the way on you PC!).

I won't lie, HD on the PS3 and Xbox 360 look very good. But the hardware in these "next gen" consoles is old, no doubt about it. Thats why the PC will always be the platform of choice for the true hardcore gamers :)
