Should Link Speak?

Should Link Speak? It’s a question that people have been asking since the Gamecube days. For some, the idea is scary due to how dodgy voice acting can be. Bad voice acting can ruin a game (see: Arc Rise Fantasia/Suikoden Tierkreis). For others, it’s time we finally gave Link a voice, the same way we did Samus, except without all the melodrama. For me, I’m fine with Link being silent. Unlike Samus, there are at least a half-a-dozen Links, so it’s not like it’s the same guy, growing with every game.

Kotaku recently brought up the question ahead of Skyward Sword, which will most likely not feature voice acting. What do you think? Should Link be forever mute or should Nintendo allow their greatest hero to speak words that could inspire a generation? Or is there a happy medium?

"if it aint broke dont fix it" Link is a man/boy of action not words i see the worst things happen if they implement voice-acting for Link im thinking about the DMC scandal here. I mean they might even turn Link into some "G-ay Twilight-Emo" actor dont let this everrr happen please. or how about this one Justin bieber does voice for Link and John cena does Ganondorf if this doesnt scare you you must be born past the year 2000

mute.. mute... mute.... the whole point to him being silent is that he relates to you more. This gives you an immersive feeling into the world but also makes you concentrate on the story more as you are reading it as oppose to hearing it. Its more than just a sound choice.

^^ I think some characters are better left mute. Although (Dead Space) a voice can be given to a character too and add immersion to the game as well :)
