The Nazis lost WWII because they were fighting a war on two fronts.
Adolf Hitler assumed personal command of the German armed forces and did not know how to develop effective tactics and strategies.(ie: attacking Stalingrad instead of Moscow, wasted many ressources and when he opened a second front against Russia which separated his forces in 2, he effectively sealed Nazi Germany’s fate) The alliances were based on ideology not on shared interest.

A very good question, I have often said that Hitler must’ve been a complete idiot to lose WW2. He had everything, far superior technology and control of most of the land and waters.

The first contributing fact would have to be that he was being attacked from 2 sides of land mass, which as I know from Civ 5, can be a pain in the ass.

Secondly, he was putting too much resources into technology and keeping prisoners of war.

Thirdly, the Russians and their insane winters…

  4. fragba1t September 23, 2011 at 6:45 PM -

They lost because Chuck Norris isn’t German.

    1. Thhey failed to invade the UK.
    2. They invaded the USSR (Russia) and got bogged down.
3 They declared war on the USA and thus against the greatest productive capacity of industry in the world.

  11. drakaenae September 23, 2011 at 11:10 PM -

          also, define: lose
Philosophically, I could argue that they won to an extent.

well, the Nazis as a whole were defeated in the war by the Allies, but it really depends on your definition of “lose” to determine if they really lost.

Firstly, it was really Hitler and his supporters who knew what was really going on who lost. Most Nazi’s were brainwashed so they didn’t really lose since they had no idea what was going. Some Nazis probably didn’t want to fight or were forced to fight to protect their family, friends etc. Those Nazis actually succeeded since by losing the war, they did not have to fight any more and there was peace.

Secondly, no one really knows what Hitler was thinking. Although sources claim that he was trying to “purify the world” by killing off the races he thought were “imperfect”, it might not really be his true goal. His true goal may have been just spreading hatred, leaving an imprint in history or testing how far he could go with his ideas, etc.; if those were his goals, he was pretty successful in accomplishing them.

Lastly, Hitler promised the people that he would return Germany to its former glory and technically he did for several years when they were power.

So technically, the Nazi’s didn’t lose, they lost the war, but they succeeded in several other aspects which leave a huge imprint in history and in our modern day world.

With respect to a Philosophical answer…yes :) Not in terms of who won the war or not, as Germany clearly lost (Axis power too). And I also believe that no “winning” comes out of War (Philosophically speaking), especially a war where 70+ million…MILLION… people lost their lives. But I catch your drift.

  12. srizank September 23, 2011 at 11:39 PM -

why did nazis lost world war 2?
    well many reasons to that

    1) they did not have hidden blades coming out of their arms?
    2) they did not receive proper ninja training
    3) they were not NINJAS!!!
    4) no m4a1 or ak’s? ..
    5) hitler was a asshole
    6) they never played any fps
    7) damn! after nazis died they turned to zombies ( according to call of duty: world at war and black ops) and killed their own teammates .. BRAINS!!..
    8) they did not have a women..
    9) they were stupid as hell
    10) they WERE FREAKING NAZIS!!!

    #1 captain america
    :)

they overextended their forces. they had a technological edge yet failed to take advantage. Bad tactics combined with lots of mistakes.

  14. Billy_rules September 24, 2011 at 1:47 AM -

i failed in social studies at school. i don’t know exactly why they lost but i think
they were noobs and didn’t handle the recoil well. so they lost.

  15. Choster September 24, 2011 at 2:09 AM -

Hitler wanted to much than he could done and for his fanatical desire he lost.

Hitler lost because his entire war effort was surrounded by hate and us as humans are not all hateful beings. The world came together to defeat this evil and with the allied nations against them hitler was slowly crushed.

    Evil never prevails.

Beacause nazi are racist idiots. They can’t be a winner of anything. They killed their people for nothing and killed too many Jews. Also occupied my country, Poland. It’s the problem, they could not win WWII.

  20. Tark Rul September 24, 2011 at 7:10 AM -

There is no holding back of the wheel of history. Nazi must lose whatever and they did.

  21. Yako27 September 24, 2011 at 9:37 AM -

1.- They Erwin Rommel on the charge of Afrika Corps (really bad Idea) he make a lot of wrong Tactics.
2.- Broke the No Fire agreement with Russia
3.- Try to invade Russia on Winter (Bad Idea) the germanies don’t have much resistance on the Frozen Climates.
4.- Benito Mussolini do wrong things, he got very fast defeated
5.- Do a fight with the Royal Airforce

  22. etnies September 24, 2011 at 10:24 AM -

They lost because Hitler was a fool to attack the USSR then they got caught fighting a war from two sides and ended up being squeezed from both ends.

  23. langleyx September 24, 2011 at 10:57 AM -

They made too many enemys with other countries…

  24. warnecruid September 24, 2011 at 9:15 PM -

Being full of arrogance, boastful, and superiority complex of leader.
    Underestimated there enemies.
    Them against the world.

  25. Makensil September 24, 2011 at 9:21 PM -

Because a tiny moustache is a huge responsibility.
    Hitler couldn’t handle it.

  26. TravistyyXD September 25, 2011 at 7:40 PM -

To much time grooming his moustache, not enough time invested in winning the war :)

  27. adios September 25, 2011 at 8:32 PM -

Despite having super technology and some sound military strategies the Germans lost WWII because of-
1.Fighting the war on multiple fronts which drained them of resources, both militarily and financially.
2.Hitler’s ideology lead to conflicts within the Nazi Party, and his poor choices regarding allies (Mussolini) and tactical decisions compounded his poor leadership.
    3. They pre-emptively attacked Russia and had to fight in the dreaded Russian Winter.

  28. RagedDaniel September 26, 2011 at 8:31 AM -

They burnt all the books that contained instructions on using there weapons.

There are many explanations what caused the Nazi Regime to loose their grip on Europe and eventually WWII. No doubt having a psycho like Hitler in control of the Country and Military is something that cannot be overlooked. His blitzkrieg took Europe by storm and they took over neighboring countries at mind boggling speeds.

They had a very strong ally with Japan (less so with Italy) and the fight in the Pacific was slow at brutal at best, if not for the A-bomb a homeland Japan invasion would have been disaster for the US.

At the start of WWII Germany was allies with Russia, I don’t remember atm why they turned on them, but they did. Without Russia as an ally, German stupidly thought they could fight on the Western and Eastern Front successfully. Big mistake.

Also Japan bringing the US into WWII with their attack on Pearl Harbor was a big mistake. WWII was already going on for 2 full years before the attack on Hawaii, doing this (don’t know if they made the decision together as allies or if Japan did it on their own) brought a whole new force to the Allies side and the States basically came to the rescue of Europe once again (WWI being the 1st time).

So the question is a complex one, and there is no ONE correct answer. But I know this, thank god Hitler is dead and I hope we never see that kind of waste of human life ever again.

Would love to hear any more explanations you can come up with : )

  30. Razei September 26, 2011 at 7:40 PM -

    This is why they lost.

    1. It failed to invade the UK.
    2. It invaded the USSR (Russia) and got bogged down.
    3. It declared war on the USA and thus against the greatest productive capacity of industry in the world.

  31. yourfuckinggod September 28, 2011 at 8:21 AM -

I think Hitler was evil basically… and his power went to his head. Since he was drunk with power and blood lust, it lead to his downfall. But if he was not so crazy Europe would look quite different than it does today.
