Neon Genesis Evangelion ( or called EVA, a Japanese cartoon series and then they have released many theater versions.)
EVA talks about humanity and the self awareness. It was difficult to understand its topic when I watched the first time. But I thought it was really good. And when I watched the second time, it was getting clear.
I really expect he third part of the new theater version which will be released next year.:P

Skyline was my favorite science fiction(besides avatar and journey to centre of theearth). the movie was awesome, i was like sitting tense till the last scene when i watched it the first time. though i was disappointed by the climax. it was a great experience.

Back to the Future… Possibly the best film ever created, let alone Sci-Fi… Memorable characters, solid storyline, loads of humour and TIME TRAVEL!!!!!

STAR WARS. Master Yoda changed the way I look at world, how I think about things, how I look at others and he’s my idol forever. He’s like my third parent!

My favorite has got to be The 5th Element. There is a part in the movie when Bruce Willis is watching some beautiful blue Alien Woman creature sing Oprah, at the same time in another part of the ship there is a battle going on. The Opera is great, really great and looking at this alien sing it even made it a more memorable moment. But yeah, The 5th Element is a great science fiction movie.
Can’t believe no one mentioned The Matrix yet, totally epic sci-fi too!

I’m also going for The Fifth Element, because:

    a) Bruce Willis has less hair than me
    b) That Opera bit IS great
    c) I have the T-shirt (http://www.nerdoh.co.uk/site/shop/products/display-product.aspx?Product_ID=154)
    d) Milla Jovovitch looks good in bandages

But who am I kidding? I think (d) is the only answer that counts! :p

The Sci-Fi that sticked to my memory the most in the past years, was Danny Boyle’s Sunshine. It reminded me of old classic sci-fi movies like Kubrick’s 2001. Simply a Masterpiece.

The shots of the the spaceship Icarus II just hovering in space, slowly moving towards the sun as humanity’s last hope, accompanied by an really awesome and fitting soundtrack from John Murphy, just lets me sit on the edge of my seat, no matter how often I have seen it. I also really enjoy the whole atmosphere and storytelling that was done in this movie. Although it is a really depressing movie, that I might have shed a tear or two too, it always leaves me with a warm and fuzzy feeling at the end, just knowing and believing in human kind and that there is still hope when everything else seems lost.

If you have never seen it, surprisingly a lot of people haven’t, here are two links to get you in mood for this masterpiece:

Soundtrack – John Murphy’s Surface of the Sun:

“At the end of time, a moment will come when just one man remains. Then the moment will pass. Man will be gone. There will be nothing to show that we were ever here… but stardust.”
