Dead Island is a brilliant new game with a fresh take on the typical zombie shooter genre with a large multiplayer and RPG like element that really addicts you and keeps you playing and playing. When I first seen the trailer and talk about Dead Island I actually thought “Here we go another crappy zombie game” But after playing it online with a few random Australians my opinion has been completely changed as the game beats all other competitors and keeps you smiling and wanting more. When the game first came out there was alot of bad talk about the game due to its first retail release being the developer build which allowed people to travel around in free cam when a certain button was pushed and alot of other annoying bugs but they have patched it a few times since than and the game is alot less buggy than some of you may think. It does need a few fixes for minor things here and there but all in all the game runs great and I only found minor problems that really didn’t effect me playing to much.

I was impressed with alot of areas throughout the game and with all the creatures and people you come in contact with. Its not the best but its pretty damn good at max settings and I often stopped just to look around and admire the landscape. The graphics are just perfect for the enemies you encounter and really deliver the feel they wanted you to have. Some people had issues with stuttering but I’m sure this will be fixed in the near future.

This game is a load of fun that really gets you addicted in SP and MP modes. It allows you to play with your friends and share missions while keeping your SP campaign intact for you to resume at a later date. There’s lots of fun items you can create yourself by finding all the required parts/ingredients and you find yourself learning new ways to take down certain enemies so it never really get boring. There’s lots of blood and guts for those who love gore in there games and a very interesting storyline that keeps you pushing forward to learn what has happened on the island. Characters in this game are plenty and can be found all over the map with interesting side stories and quests that’ll keep you and your friends entertained for a very long time. I can only see this game getting better and better with time aslong as they keep releasing content and patching the holes that some people are facing.
I find myself really impressed with the sound on this game they really bring to life the world around you in most parts and by sound you can judge where your enemies and friends are perfectly. When you use the ingame microphone settings it also sounds fine both sides. The sound will catch you when your guard is down! It could be a zombie you didn’t know was there or some other creature but yea its definitely good so turn ya speakers up and enjoy it!
Overall Score: 8.8/10
This game is excellent and if the price is to much just wait it out until its on sale or something because this game is really something you wanna try! I highly recommend you play this game with friends(or randoms) as it just makes this fun little game even more fun!! The only really annoying thing i found in this game was a few randoms who jumped into your game with blasting music and there was no real option I could see to just kick that 1 particular idiot so I had to close the lobby down kicking any other good players I had in there with me. I think this game will give you more than 30+ hours of fun when online and its definitely worth the money in my opinion (49.99) and it also has great X360 gamepad support that i personally enjoy using along with other controllers I am told. This game might of came out at a bad time with other great named titles releasing but I am sure this game will go on being popular for a long while.
