In February of this year and as part of the advertising campaign for The Elder of Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda reported, via their official blog, that they would reward couples who gave birth on November 11 (release date of Skyrim) and on Nov, 11 one lucky couple named their son Dovahkiin.
Well, although at the time seemed highly unlikely that anyone would respond to such an unusual call, the promotion has a winner.
Megan and Eric Kellermeyer gave to birth the little Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer. Wich came to the world in the right date, and with the right name.. Well, kinda.
Thanks to the controvertial decision, the Kellermeyer became owners of a lifetime endowment of Bethesda games. (Wich maybe, in a not too distant future, will let their son forgive them for the constant taunt that he could possibly suffer during his childhood).
Megan – mother of the newborn – argues that they chosed the name just because they wished to do something special for their child, and she had nothing to do with the prize of the promotion because she doesn’t even play videogames.
The most famous case of this kind is that of Zelda Williams, wich father, Robin Williams, baptized in honor of the Princess Zelda. Fortunately, the girl ended up being a fan of video games, including Halo and of course, Zelda.
