Hammers because they are reliable and don't need to be sharpened. Have fun with your swords getting stuck in recent corpses and whatnot while my hammer is always with me. No ammo required means there is little to maintain and worry about in the heat of battle. Using a smaller one handed hammer means i can utilize a shield as well.

Favourite is the flail. Who doesn't like a ball and chain to attack people with.

Instead of naming some obscure weapon, I'll go with a sword. Nothing beats a sword.

It's the battleaxe cuz it is very powerful against shields and damage armor/weapons easily, and it looks deadly and can crack a skull in 2

A Flail - cause if it is not well build it may sleep from the stick and hit you or a one from your crew! lol

Saber. Good to use on horse or off horse, and its curve edge is better looking than ordinary swords in my opinion.

My favourite Medieval weapon has to be the halberd. From stabby, to hooky, to slashy; it was a tool that any medieval warrior could use to do anything they wanted. Unmounting, taking someone's feet out from underneath them, etc, etc.

For me...It would have to be the long bow and a medium sized sword combo. Close up, fast and deadly, far away (dead before know it).

my favorite is the Marto Spanish Halberd , i was searching for medieval weapons and this one caught my attention for its own amazing fighting style :)

I'd have to say trebuchets, a type of catapult powered by a counterweight and gravity. The engineering and math that went into developing these weapons is just fascinating...

The Spring loaded Triple Dagger

Zweihander. Long as hell, limited in use but damned if you probably didn't see one and worry about getting cleaved by that.

Longsword: It represents honor and valor.

Hmm, it would be crossbow. The reason is simple any1 can use it with a simple training unlike a bow. It has a long range and can pierce armor like a paper. Silent, easy to use, efficient, effective, deadly. Most feared weapon of medieval ages.

quailstorm

An axe, and a crossbow. This combo is deadly.

My favorite medieval weapon would have to be the Great Sword It’s two handed, which means you sacrifice a little defense in that you are unable to have a shield while wielding it, even though they way a ton or so a pretty good attack and power is enough to kill some dragons and knights >:D ! What it sacrificed in defense, it made up for in Massive Damage. Most importantly, the weapon can also be used as a shield i mean if u want just like Monster Hunter Freedom >:D !

Sure idiot can wield a Crossbow, but every Civ fan knows you want the Chu Ko Nu instead :)

Flail. Even an untrained peasant would be able to take down a well armored soldier

the morningstar! a spiked ball on the end of a chained handle? what's not to love?!

I will go with the crossbow aswell, it just owns everyone ^^

My favourite would be the british longbow. Longbow is one of my favourites because it has massive range, so you can strike your opponents when they have no idea of your presence, however, it is not practical at all if your enemy is relatively close, especially if there's more of them, since the british longbow has to be dug into the ground to be able to spring it strong enough to be able to get a good shot that will deal some damage over a great distance.

Well, are we limiting ourselves to a particular region (such as medieval Europe) or are we free to choose... If free, I would go with the Katana... Coupled with knowledge of the martial arts such as kendo and iyado, all it takes is a single action to take the opponent down (the cutting edge of the blade faces upward as opposed to downward). If limited to Europe, I would go with the recurved composite bow, which while not as powerful as a crossbow, has a higher reload rate and can easily be used from horseback.

Balista, and the big arse Catapult.. in balista more devastation a long range bow type weapon that pierce through though walls and make a big hole can even put an element of fire... same as on catapults yeh physics in motion. let the big rubbles rain down on those pesky enemies same as balista it can be armed to the teeth. putting a lot of the medieval arsenals such as ball of fire. the lump of stone covered with sticky oil and some medieval exploding ammo's anything even dead human live human and even cattle's. anything that they can throw to their enemies.

My favorite medieval weapon is the ball and chain!!! Many people incorrectly call this a morning star, but that weapon is a straight stick with spikes on the end of it. I'm not sure where the confusion came from, but I suspect Dungeons and Dragons may be the culprit. A ball and chain is a type of flail, and there are many variations, from the typical grain threshing flail used with deadly intent, to this fearsome weapon. I wouldn't want to face this thing in battle. It looks scary, and my shield would do little good. All someone has to do is hit the shield with the handle, and the ball whips around and smack! While it wouldn't do much good against plate armour with padding underneath, most regular warriors had chain mail or even leather armour, which would have left them vulnerable to blunt trauma and puncture attacks.

Mace, just because it's such an awesome weapon and allows for easy skull bashing. :)

My festival medieval weapon is sword. A well-trained swordman know how to attack and defeat with only one sword in hand. Attack the opponent's weakness with a sharp sword gives the enemy deadly hits. Compared with hammer or other melee weapon, sword reaches a balance of light and heavy-hit. Axe is very heavy. Though it can make deadly hits, the soildier would have slow action. Dagger allows soildier to move fast and attack more but it has a shorter attack range. It's not designed for battles. Sword is lighter than hammer/Axe and also can make heavy hits. It's the best medieval weapon I think.

Marcello Herrera

im not entirely sure if this counts as a weapon but I'd have to go with Religion. If anything people would rally for what they believed in and would fight to the death for their faith
