The anticipation for the next Guild Wars 2 beta weekend is finally over. Just announced this morning by ArenaNet is the second playable weekend. It shall be June 8 starting at noon PDT through June 10 11:59 pm PDT. This announcement was made by Chris Whiteside from ArenaNet.
To make the weekend even more special, Chris announced that no characters were deleted so players can pick up right where they left off. In fact he states that those who have a level 35 or above (how the heck did anyone get THAT high during the first beta with all the issues?) “will be able to test their mettle against the explorable version of the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon!”
Chris Whiteside gave a huge thank you to all the fans of the game for helping with beta events and feedback so that the ArenaNet team could make Guild Wars 2 the best game it can be. According to him without the community for the game, it would not be where it is today.
He goes on to say that “Your participation is even more important when you consider that we take our beta events very seriously in terms of our development strategy. At ArenaNet, “beta event” means exactly that–it’s a development-centric event in which we test our systems, discover new and exciting bugs, and get pivotal feedback from our testers about what is going in the right direction and what isn’t.” If you’ve played the game so far, you can tell this is true.
There were several other comments made about the Guild Wars community in itself (which you can see here if you want) but I think the biggest news is that we finally get a second beta weekend!
