6 Fantasy Action try before you buy games


With so many games out there and so little time to play them all, gamers must choices as to what they will spend their hard-earned money on.  It’s nice when you can try the game before you actually buy it without spending a dime.  Steam has several which you can and this is six Fantasy Action style games that you can do just that.

1. Blades of Time – this hack-and-slash, action-adventure game features an ability called “Time Rewind”, which allows players to turn back time and produces a clone that replicates the last action the main character made.  This is highlyvital in solving puzzles and fighting hordes of enemies which the game offers.  Priced at $39.99.

2. A Valley without Wind – this 2D sidescroller allows players to follow a nonlinear path as they move through the game using tactical combat and strategic planning to defeat evil Overlord. Priced at $14.99.

3. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – this single-player action role-playing game boasts a cast of known artists for its creation:  Ken Rolston is the game’s executive designer, R. A. Salvatore (of Forgotten Realms fame) created the game universe and lore, Todd McFarlane (creator of Spawn and McFarlane toys) did the artwork, and Grant Kirkhope created the musical score.  The game allows players to start as a “blank slate” and choose from 4 playable races, and 3 class trees with 22 abilities per tree.  Priced at $59.99.

4. Dungeon Defenders – this well-known game combines the genres of tower defense and action RPG into one popular game.  Players control the young apprentices of wizards and warriors and defend against hordes of monsters.  It is a 2010 release game which still has appeal to gamers.  Priced at $14.99.

5. Bastion – an action role-playing game where the gamer controls “the Kid”, moving him  through a floating, fantasy-themed environment and fighting enemies of various types. It’s a two-dimensional game with a hand-painted, colorful art style and dynamic voiceover from a narrator.  Priced at $14.99.

6. Dungeon Siege III – In this action role-playing game the player will choose from one of four characters, each which has a different back-story.  They will seek to reestablish the 10th Legion and fight Jeyne Kassynder for control of Ehb. Priced $19.99.
