If you haven’t heard of Stay Dead before, it’s not a zombie game. It’s actually a fighting game, er movie, er well actually both. This new concept from BRUCEfilm is definitely something you haven’t seen before. And now you can check it out with the playable PC demo, yeah it only took several months for that to come out after the game’s launch.
The game might remind you of Street Fighter but then again not really. This is due to the fact that while the game is based on martial arts and you fight several levels, the characters and stages are actual people (think the movie Gamer but not with prisoners). The idea is to not just play the game but also be in the actual scene in real time. Live footage is used in all the in-game graphics so you might forget you are actually playing a game.
BRUCEfilms has said that Stay Dead is not another graphic adventure, laser game, or interactive movie. It is a completely different animal altogether. While the video footage is important to the gaming the creative team wants the focus to be for the player to feel like their character is actually in a movie; “a movie with a real montage and a proper grammar”
