THEY HAVE FEAR 2 / FEAR 1!!
I think the scariest game I have ever played is by far Doom 3, it had plenty of moments where I was trapped in the darkness and had to chose between using my weapon or a flashlight. Things would pop out at the right times and scare the shit out of me. Struggling to save ammo for the next threat. Add in a pitch dark room, and good headphones to further the experience.
By far the one game that really scared me deeply was Amnesia: The Dark Descent. This is the only game I’ve had to take breaks from because I was so scared and distrubed.
The only other game I can think of that scared me was Dead Space. Freggin things jumping out at me.
Probs Amnesia or REmake
My scariest game? Hm, that would be….LSD Dream Simulator. It’s just scary in a way that’s freaky. Random popups, deranged environments, disturbing textures, and the ghost man that keeps following you? Goodness.
Fear 3 is the scariest i played
i want FEAR 2..
FEAR is awesome but getting worse..i still want it..its scary.. one time i walked in the dark..and was blown away by the black effect in the dark.. so true..
me wants it..
Resident Evil 5. Just the act of being swarmed….kinda scary
(although not technically in the contest I like the discussion)
For me the scariest game I’ve totally played through is Silent Hill 2 but I admit that I’ve barely played through Amnesia and I believe it would be a terrifying experience.
The reason I choose Silent Hill 2 is because rather than simply having jump scares every 5 minutes there’s a very strong psychological horror going on, this meaning while there is the odd jump scare there’s also times where you’ll see a creature, it will look at you and walk away or it’ll slowly come creeping towards you. This in my opinion is pretty freaky and this is why I also think Amnesia would make me crap mah pants.
Dead Space 2 tho did have some pretty freaky jump scares i admit ;(
Gears of war, because the monsters are very ugly.
The scariest game I ever played was Resident Evil File Outbreak 2, but was also one of the funnest games I played too.
RE 3
^^ i was younger and it really scared me -.-
Amnesia is the scariest game because depending on your fears and how you handle some pretty intense images, the game can give off an EXTREMELY intense vibe (this is what happened to me), where its not necessarily always scary but it will put you on the edge and then some, or it could literally make you **** your pants.
Resident Evil 5. Just the fact of being first….kinda cool.
The scariest for me was Amnesia, F.E.A.R series, and the Dead Space Series.
Amnesia, its simply scary, it creates tons of tension and keeps you wondering whats behind you, but you never see it, you just die.
It was a flash game, they told me to keep my mouse in the maze… all of a sudden A SPAWN OF SATAN sent me flying out of my chair
My scariest game is Dead Space 2. I’ve played another games but Dead Space is crazy scary how the aliens jump out and scare the sh*t out of me. and the theme was dark i could barely see anything. by the way you guys have a good starting. Best wishes for you. Last long Happy Cloud ^^.
The one game that scared the pants off me will have to be……
Well scratch that the one game series that scared me was the F.E.A.R. series
each game had it’s scare factors and at the most random points and time too.. ie: turning around and climbing down the stairs and either Alma or Paxton Fettle appearing out of thin air and then vanishing or just the random turn the corner and something suddenly appears and just floors you it was a pain in the rear not to wing the keyboard and or controller across the room…
F.E.A.R. 2 really had it in for me though.. own i for the 360 and i must say that just the even more creepy things that happen and the sudden appearances and then add in the screen effects really did a number on me.. cannot play that game in the dark period…
F.3.A.R. – this was the show stopper the crowd pleaser and the reason i had to replace 3 controllers in a two week time frame.. the random appearances of things the later content that just down right gives you the heeby jeebies if you wanted to piss yourself congrats you were going to need a new pair of boxers by the time you put the controller and or keyboard down.
The scariest game I have ever played was F.E.A.R. when I was 15 years old. I completely underestimated the game’s atmosphere and somewhat complex storyline. Here’s how it went before I bought it:
I thought I would be interested in the title due to the bright, flashy colors on the cover, but I had no fear when looking at the dark, shadowy figure of who they call Alma on the artwork of the case.
So, I was expecting an interesting game with first-person shooter elements that I could just play through and enjoy, but that wasn’t the case at all. The first scary scenes in the abandoned house already had me scared out of my mind. Usually I don’t scream but get chills go down my spine, but with this game, it made me shout a couple of times. I still get scared near the particular areas where I jumped or screamed before even if I know where exactly it happens.
It took me a whole week to get past my fear in order to play this game without having any bad dreams or having a lack of sleep due to the horrid images I saw made out of pixels. There are some others that had my heart rushing, but I have to admit that F.E.A.R. scared me the most and I consider it the best when it comes to scaring people for the first time.
definitely dead space 2, it normally wouldn’t be, but when you have a friend who is on certain illegal substances and hallucinating/ screaming VERY loudly every time a door opens, it gets scary.
^^ Lol, wow, just wow!
Penumbra Black Plague
Why, because you get chased by fully naked creatures the entire game, have to hide, and it gets REALLY intense when they see you, and you have to run for your life. I hate the feeling of being chased and you can’t look behind you before you get killed, I bet this annoys everyone too
I’d say Deadspace, just cuz that shit that grabs you by the leg is so enexpected!
amnesia the sound effects r just completly creepy
Amnesia of course, i cant play that game ;D
